Out of My Mind - water
Just like Helen Keller, Melody has her own experience with water at the end of chapter 6. What did she do with Mrs. V? Why do you think she was so eager to get out and experience it?
What she did with Mrs. V was she and Melody sat on Mrs. V's porch watching the rain pour down from the sky. Then Mrs. V brought Melody out to feel thier rain on her face, skin, and eyes. I think she was so eager because her parents were so protective and they wouldn't let her outside in the rain incase she fell out of her wheelchair. Then when Mrs. V took her out she felt ecited because she knew her parnets wouldn't allow it.
I'd like to see a little more evidence and explanation incorporated into your comments. Please check out some of your classmates' posts for inspiration.
Melody had her own Helen Keller water experience. She and Mrs. V were sitting on the porch of Mrs. V’s house on a very hot day and watching the rain pour down from the sky. A gust of wind blew and Melody felt the rain all over her body. I think Melody was happy she had this experience. She was eager when it happened though and I think it was because she hadn’t done anything like this before. I also agree with Ella’s statement that her parents are very protective of her and she wouldn’t have done anything like this with them.

ReplyDeleteI think Helen Keller and Melody are alike because they both have disabilities and they are eager to learn.
