Based on what you've read so far in the first few chapters, describe Russell and Richie by discussing some of their character traits.Use specific evidence from the story to back up your thinking!

  1. Russell is a innocent and a lonely boy with not really any friends, he didn't mind it that much being alone. I think Russell would like to have some friends though. I think he is innocent because he never did anything to Richie to hurt his feeling or bring him down and all the sudden BAM! Richie started being a jerk to him. Richie is a mean, cruel, and he is a bully. First of all, he said to Russell, "Is that your bike? Well it was in my way," Probably thinking that he is so cool and everything in his life should be perfect. Next, he punched Russell right in the stomach and he couldn't breathe! And said, " You gonna cry little boy? This is not over, it is never over. Every time you think the coast is clear you better be watching for me" and he smiled and walked away. That is how I would describe Russell and Richie with character traits.

  2. I would describe Russell as lonely because he has no one to hang out with and is always walking alone but I can tell he doesn't really want to be alone because in the text/book it said " but why attach yourself to the same people everyday, with everyone gabbling like a bunch of baby ducks? I didn't mind going by myself, not that much.'' Russell is also a little mean because it said in the book that he did not understand the things that came out of his mouth. he said that cam out " load and clanky and wrong" so what he said was probably mean. also Russell can be nice because he offered Richie a soda and was nice to the new girl in school. But on the other hand Richie was mean because he was always picking on Russell. like one time he met Russell and pushed it over and said "it was in MY way" and then Richie punched Russell in the stomach and was threatening him. He also poured a whole bottle of root beer on Russell's head. he is also stalkish because wherever Russell would go Richie would be watching him and staring at him in a mean way. i just think Richie should be more nice to people.

  3. Russell is a lonely average kid with not many friends. He was beat up by Richie after school when he went to the store to get a root beer. Richie is a mean bully. Richie punched him for no reason when Russell got a root beer. Russell did nothing to Richie so that states why Richie is a bully.

  4. I would describe Russell as helpless when he goes against Richie because Richie is much stronger and faster than Russell . Richie is what I would call a bully he was picking on Russell by pouring root beer on Russell's head. Then, he would call Russell a little boy and then just walk away smiling. Richie can also be physical like when he punched Russell in the Stomach and face. He is also creepy at times like when he says that every time you think i'm not there I am there. Russell is also scared of Richie because he is always making sure Richie isn't nearby. I don't think when Richie is being a bully he is cool. He should stop bulling people and get some friends because he's not going to get any this way.

  5. I know you have read this book so you probably know that Richie is a bully. He picks on most of the people he sees leaving his enemies running for their life. He even picks on Russell. He punched him in the stomach and poured root beer all over his head. Now that's mean, but Russell for instance, is actually innocent. He is around 13 years old and doesn't really have any friends, but when he was walking downtown he said that he didn't mind being lonely that much. But I'm sure he would rather be popular. Overall, I think Richie is a jerk, and Russell is a really nice kid.

  6. I think Russell is very sweat because when the group of girls dropped a note next to Catalina and he saw that she was upset and ran away so he ran after her. He did not want her to be upset and he solved the problem and now she has a friend. I also think he is a nervous character because during the last couple of classes of the day he thinks about Riche and what he would do and what mood he would be in. I think Richie is a very bad person because he always beats on one exact person because they make small mistakes or just feels like it. I also think he has potential because all bullies have a reason that they are mean so he can turn nice once the thing that is bothering him is resolved. That is what I think about those two characters.

  7. I would describe Russell as an innocent lonely 7th grader who is one of Richie's targets. He is also very nice. I know this because he asked Richie if he wanted a sip of his root beer before Richie dumped it on his head. Richie on the other hand is a mean and nasty bully. I know this because he punched, threatened, and dumped soda on Russell.

  8. I would describe Russell as an innocent, ordinary boy, who gets bullied by Richie. He is not used to being bullied like this and has no group of friends or cliques. Russell think that if tells his parents about being bullied by Richie, then his problems will only get worse. Russell is very lonely all the time and has no one to back him up or get him out of trouble. He is also optimistic. I know this because in the story he said, "everyone else in 7th grade had to go everywhere with their friends, they would walk with their cliques thru the halls then head home or where ever else they went together after school. But why attach yourself to the same people every day with everyone gabbling like a bunch of baby ducks? I didn't mind going by myself, really. Not that much." I think that Russell should never be bullied by Richie because he is probably taking something out on Russell from what is going on at his own home. Richie Tucker is the type of kid who is a bully. Some examples of him bullying Russell are that he punched him in the stomach and then made fun of him for crying about it. Also he poured his root beer all over his head. He threatens Russell to hurt him if he tells anybody about the bullying. He watches Russell where ever he goes and follows him. I would describe his character traits being mean, aggressive, hurtful, intimidating, and threatening. I think that Richie is bullying Russell because something is going on in his family and he is taking it out on him. I hope that Russell and Richie will come to an agreement and be friends.

  9. Russell is a good kid who doesn't really have any friends. There's this one kid named Richie who picks on Russell for no reason so that proves he is a bully. For example Richie punch Russell in the gut for know reason and he was like you going to cry little boy, another time he poured root beer on him for no reason so that proves he is a bully

  10. One character trait that i would describe Russell as is sad and lonely. I think this because in the story Russell is kind of the outcast and doesn't have any friends to hand with. Therefor everyone finds him different in not such a good way. Another character trait i would use to describe Russell is defenseless and timid. I also think this because after the first time Richie bullied him he tried to blend in and stay low, he almost tried not to be noticed at all for that matter. Moving on to Richie i think he is just a downright bully. He wants people to fear him and think he is so buff. Thats his way of being "cool" i guess. For example he punched Russell in the stomach and then poured root beer all over him. Richie is also unforgiving because even when Russell said sorry for the "wrong" thing he was doing Richie didn't forgive him, and just to rub it in Richie also said even when you least expect me i will always be there.

  11. Russell is innocent and lonely with barley
any friends but in the text back in the story every day after school he would get root bear but one day Richie was there . Richie grabbed Russell ' s root bear and poured it on his head. Russell was helpless. I would describe Richie as a bully and a really mean guy I think that is why he has no friends if he would stop bullying he might make some but not like this.He picked on a kid smaller than him as when he punched Russell right in the stostomach which is the bad spot to punch someone because it hurts bad. I think think Richie thinks that he is really "cool" in his side of the story but what about others.

    1. That is really good Makaylah, I really like how you made a prediction that " I think that is why he has no friends if he would stop bullying he might make some but not like this." I thought was exactly right!

  12. I would describe Russell a more of an outcast he does not really have AS MANY friends as the other kids in his grade. In the story Russell says," but why attach yourself to the same people everyday, with the everyone gabbling like a bunch of baby ducks?" If it were me I would not have felt good at all. Russell is actually very nice, in the library a couple mean girls in their own clique ( and this was a very mean clique) came in a were taking and laughing. Meanwhile, Russell and his friend were looking for information in books and there was another girl there who was reading a book and her name was Catline, she had left and there was a very mean note the other girls left. Russell took the note and went to find Catline. That is not all that is happening in the book wait till you hear about Richie!!
Richie is a very tough, mean, strong, and terrifying person. He picks on kids for no reason, for example Russell was just an ordinary kid who had done nothing wrong and then out of no where this giant scary looking kid (Richie) is bullying him. Richie is one of those bullies that uses contact bullying, he literally punched Russell directly in the stomach! I would not like to be bullied so I sure hope Russell and his clique find a solution!

  13. Some of Russel's character traits are that he is really kind but doesn't have a lot of friends. In the story Russel is going into middle school and doesn't have any friends which in middle with a lot of kids that make Russel a really easy target to get bullied. In the library Russel meets this mean clique of mean girls that were laughing. Richie is mean, tough, and strong. He likes to pick on kids for no reason. Russel's favorite thing to do on the way home is get a root beer and Richie once punched Russel in the gut and said ''What are you going to do cry little boy''. Also, Richie dumped Russel's root beer on his head even though Russel offered to by one for Richie. That proves Russel is a nice kind kid and Richie is a mean bullie

  14. Based on the book "The Revealers", Richie is a bully in 8th grade who picks on younger kids. In this case, Richie is picking on Russell who is a year younger than him and is smaller. Russell is a kid in 7th grade who doesn't have many friends. Russell is not in a clique which almost every other kid is in so he feels left out. Russell is also trying to make Richie stop bullying him and hurting him. Russell is an innocent student who Richie chooses to pick on. Russell never did anything to Richie to make him do that.

  15. Over the chapters I have read, I would describe Russell as one of those innocent boys that always are the bully targets because he are weak and he really can't do anything about that. Also he is really shy and doesn't have a lot of friends to help when help is needed but he is nice and helps others. For example, He and his friend were in the library when he saw the new girl get her feelings hurt and she got up and ran away but Russell followed her and helped her out and now they are friends. If u think that was mean wait till you hear about Richie. Richie is one of those kids that you stay away from and don't make any contact, not even eye contact. Also he is the meanest kid ever. One day Richie told Russell to go get a root beer and when Russell came back out Richie poured the cold A&W Root Beer all over him and walked away.

  16. Over the chapters, I think Russel is an innocent little boy who doesn't know a lot about 7th grade. He is not in a clique so he is lonely and sad, he did nothing to anybody but yet he gets bullied. Richie on the other hand is a cruel bully, he punched Russel and knocked his bike over. When Russel bought a root beer Richie dumped it all over his head.

  17. I would describe Russell as an innocent, lonely, and kind boy. Russell is innocent because he never hurt any-ones feelings. Also he is lonely because in the book he said, after school everyday he went straight home and waited for his mom. Also in the book he said that he didn't mind being alone. Russell is kind because he offered to be friends with Catish and even thought Richie is mean to him he offered him a root-bear. Richie is a mean person, he's a bully and he thinks he's so cool. It all started when Russell was in a store, he came out and Richie was leaning against the wall and said "it was in my way, thinking he's so cool." Russell's bike was laying on the floor. Then Richie punched Russell in the stomach which made it hard for Russell to breath, twisted his chin and said oh you going to cry little boy? After that Richie tricked Russell into thinking he's nice, " Russell went into the store and bought a root-bear, came out and Richie asked for it so Russell gave it to him" Richie poured the root-bear on Russell, handed him the bottle and said recycle it. Richie said this is not over, it is never over. Every time you think the coast is clear you better be watching for me and he smiled then walked away. That's how I would describe Russell and Richie's character traits.

  18. Some character traits for Russell is innocent, lonely, nice, and kind. He is innocent because this bully Richie has been mean to him and Russell hasn't done anything to make Richie bully him. He is lonely because all his friends have gone to other cliques and nobody really likes him anymore. He is kind because he doesn't treat anybody bad and he offers to be friends with kids. Some character traits for Richie is a bully, a mean person, a stocker, and a rude person. For example he beats younger kids up for no reason. He dumped root beer over Russell and punched him. At that time Russell could hardly breath. Richie is always watching where ever Russell goes. These are some character traits for Russell and Richie.
