Spoiler alert! This is a Chapter 10 question for AFTER you have finished the reading for Thursday.

Using details from the text, describe both the older Receiver's home and the older Receiver himself.

  1. Both are full of knowledge. As the text said, the room was stacked with books and that's probably all the memories inside his mind. If so, this is where all the information comes from. But, how do they transport the information? I say it's all part of this fictional story. (Magicccccccc)...

  2. The old Reciever's home is filled with books and information. The Reciever himself is filled with information. Both are possibly filled with the past. ;)

  4. Well, the older receiver's home has things that most of the normal houses in "The Community" don't have, like regular books and luxury couches. The older receiver himself seems wise, weary, and strange all at the same time. He knows so much, he is weary of him failing to teach Jonas like he did the prev. receiver, and it seems like he's hiding something. P.S does anybody think that the name "The Community" sounds like some evil organization or am I superstitious? -Andrew

  5. well the older receivers house has books that are filled with information and so is the receiver, so maybe the receiver receives all the information by the books and that's how he knows everything. The text says that when he walked in there were tons of books covering the walls, and all Jonas has seen is a dictionary, the book of rules, and the community volume.
