The Revealers - taking control

Most of the experiments revolved around taking control away from the bullies. Give an example of how each main character took power away from a bully.  Were they successful? Last, do you think regaining control from the bullies is key to ending their suffering? Why or why not?

  1. Elliot and Catalina take away from the bullies by writing facts about themselves. Catalina writes about her background, where she came from why and who she came with. Elliot shares when he got bullied from the Jock Rots. They tore up his homework play keep away with his library books threw of the bridge and gave him a concussion and a sprained ankle. Russell took away from Richie by gathering Elliot and Catalina for backup when Richie tries to bully him.

  3. I think all the people took the control away from their bullies. Catalina took control away form Bethany by following her to hear what she said. She also posted her story to the whole seventh grade. Elliot took control over his bullies by posting it to the whole school and they did not go to him so far. Russell took power over Riche by asking him all the questions he had about why he hurt him. I do think it is the end of the suffering because if and when they notice the bullies will have to stop because everyone will find out who the bullies are. They will notice that they can not take out their anger on others.

  4. Catalina took power away from the bullies and told the truth about her self and now Catalina has some friends to sit at lunch with and hang out with. And,Yes Catalina was successful because the girls sat with her at lunch. I also think its key to regaining control from those mean group of girls. Elliot took away the power from bullies by getting revenge on the jock rots that pushed him off the bridge and Elliot was successful because he's getting better. And last but not least Russell took away the power from bullies by coming around and posting his story but posting it as anonymous.

  5. Russell took power away from Richie by talking to him and asking him questions like "why?" 'what did I do?" and it sort of worked. it didn't really work because Richie punched Russell, but it did work because Richie stayed away from Russell and helped him when he was being bullied by the Jock Rots. so Russell's plan was technically a success. then Catalina stood up for herself but in a different way, she stood up for herself by putting a note about true facts about herself on KidNet and Bethany stayed away from her and people started talking to her and becoming her friend. So Catalina's plan was a success. Elliot took power by physically hitting them with a sock full of marbles and also writing a letter on KidNet. People left Elliot alone and Russell and Catalina are also helping him so he doesn't get bullied. his plan was a success

  6. In the book all three of the characters took power away from the bullies one way or another. Russell took power away from richie by questioning him. just by standing up to Richie gained Russell some respect. For example this was successful because Richie acknowleged him and stood up for him when he encountered the jock rots. Also, Elliot finally stood up to the jock rots by fighting back. I don't think this attempt was that successful because the bullies threw him off a bridge. Catalina on the other hand, wrote a letter to the whole 7th grade on kidnet explaining who she really was. This was a great idea because some of the girls sat with her at lunch. Taking control ended the victims suffering because it made them feel safer and less scared all the time.

  7. Russell took power away from Richie by talking to him and asking questions like '' Why? What did I do? '' Russell was kind of successful because he spoke up but, sense he spoke up he got punched in the face. Elliot took power away from the Jot Rots by physically hitting one of the Jot Rots in the face with a sock full of marbles and also wrote a letter about what they did to Elliot. Catalina took power away from Bethany by writing a letter on KidNet about who she really is thangot treated differently.

  8. In the story, each main character took control away from their bullies. Russell who is bullied by Richie took the power out of Richie by standing up to him and asking why he is bullying little innocent kids like Russell and in the end Richie commented on Russell for standing up to him after a fight with the Jock Rots. Elliot who is mainly bullied by the Jock Rots took the power out of them by fighting back and posting a story about how the Jock Rots bullied him to the whole 7th grade. Catalina who is bullied by some girls that say facts about her that aren't true went on KidNet and posted the true facts about her and now the girls wont bother her. They were all successful. Regaining control is the key to end suffering from bullies.

  9. Russell, Catalina, and Elliot all took power away from the people bullying them. First of all, Russell took power away from Richie Tucker who dumped root beer over his head, punched him, and threatened him by standing up to Richie and that got him to stop. But Richie didn't stop right away. Richie beat Russell up again and then stood up for him at the basketball courts when Blachette and Burke were telling him to not have Elliot mention their names when he puts things from "The Bully Lab" on KidNet. Next, Catalina took power away from Bethany DeMere and her friends who always passed her mean notes and purposely talked loud around her to hear by posting the truth about her and telling people the things that weren't true on KidNet for all of seventh grade to read. Finally, Elliot got the Jock Rots and other bulliesto stop bullying him by posting a message to the seventh grade on KidNet telling them to stop bullying him and telling them about the Bully Lab (later renamed as The Revealer) which caused all the people who bullying him to stop. Russell, Catalina, and Elliot all found ways to cause people to stop bullying them.

  10. First Russell took control by asking Richie why he was bulling him. Then Catalina stood up to her bullies but not directly. She typed a letter telling all about her, were she's from, about her mom and dad, special thing between her and her mom, why she's in America and posted it on kidnet. Next Elliot took control to his bullies but also not directly. He typed a letter about his bully experience and posted it on kidnet. Both Catalina and Elliot stated their names when they posted it {it was not anmoynous}. Russell taking control was successful because he did stand up to him but also no, he got punched in the face. Catalina's was successful because people started acting differently to her in a good way. Elliots was successful too.
