The Revealers - Richie begins to act differently.
In what way did Richie help Russell deal with the Jock Rots? Were you surprised by this change in behavior? Why do you think Richie
reacted so strangely when Russell asked him if he wanted the basketball
the Jock Rots left behind? He seemed to flip a switch immediately... Remember to full explain your thinking when answering all parts of the question!
Richie act so differently because it was two of the Jot Rots verse Russell so Richie said it will be more even if it was two on two so Richie joined Russell. I was surprised in this change of behavior. I think Richie reacted so strangely because Russell asked the wrong question like what Richie said, he said ''You can ask questions just the right questions'' When Russell said '' It's not mine do you need one'' I think Richie thought he tried to be smart.
ReplyDeleteRichie begins to act differently when he saw the "Jock Rots" picking on Russell. Richie helped Russell deal with the "Jock Rots" by scaring them away. He said it looks like there's two boys pushing one kid around, lett's make it two against two. "the Jock Rots already started to step back" I was kinda surprised by this change in behavior but also no because I was just expecting Richie to change but not this early in the book. I think Richie reacted so strangely when Russel asked him if he wanted the basketball the Jock Rots left behined he was surprised that Russel was being nice to him.
ReplyDeleteRichie might be acting different than usual because of the time he punched Russell in the face because he noticed that it was wrong to bully Russell. He might have noticed that when he saw Russell on the street with his bruised face. Richie helped Russell with the Jock Rots by telling them it was a fair fight if he was there. This scared the jock rots because Richie is a big strong kid who could hurt them. I think Richie got mad because he said not to make him mad and did not want something he told him to have. So, he got mad because he did not do what he told him to do.
ReplyDeleteRichie helped Russell deal with the Jock rots by first saying two against one isn't fair then scaring them away. Yes I was surprised by Richie behavior. I think Richie acted so strangely when Russell asked if he wanted the Jock Rots basketball because Russell had asked the wrong question. Richie said, "you can ask questions, just the right question" when Russell had said " it's not mine you need ones"
ReplyDeleteGreat job Charles. You were correct on the way that Richie scared away the jock rots. You were also correct on complete sentences and restating the questions. Good job on pulling information right from the book, too. I hope you get a really good score on this typing assignment.
DeleteI think Richie helped Russell against the Jock Rots because he felt bad for what he did to Russell. When Richie saw Russell on the court he decided to help him to say sorry for what he did. I think Richie is trying to get the trust of Russell so he can have backup if he gets bullied.
ReplyDeleteRichie has been acting differently, this suprises me. When the Jock Rots were pushing Russell around, Richie came to his defense. Richie also said it would be a fair fight two against two. Also, Richie told Russell that he could ask him questions if he wanted. When Russell asked if Richie wanted the basketball left behind, he acted strange. I think Richie doesn't own a lot of things and he doesn't want anyone to find out.
ReplyDeleteRichie helped Russell deal with the Jock Rots by saying "two against 1 isn't fair." and then that scared away the Jock Rots. I was surprised by Richie's behavior because I thought it was going to happen later in the book because he said its never over. I think Richie acted so strangely when Russell asked him if he wanted the ball because Russell talked back to him which is not liked by Richie.
ReplyDeleteRichie who helped Russell against the jock Rots kind of surprised me because Richie was always the one who bullied someone and never took sides when someone else was being bullied. but when the jock rots said its 2 against 1 but then Richie came and he said it wasn't fair and it had to be 2 against 2. Richie's attitude defiantly changed against Richie, it used to be `him bullying Russell and now its them together against the jock Rots! as soon as Richie came the jock rots "backed off'' from Russell.
ReplyDeleteRichie helped Russell during the conversation by backing him up and scaring them away. For example, when Richie came over and started saying stuff the Jock Rots were scared. I was not surprised that Richie helped Russell because I knew he had a good side and a thought he would come back in the end to do something really mean or something nice to Russell. I think Russell acted so strangely when Richie gave him the ball because from the past experiences with Richie he has never done something nice.
ReplyDeleteRiche helped Russell by scaring off the jock rots when they where beating on him. I think Riche acted so strangly when Russell asked him about the basketball because I think he ethier thought that he was offering him the basketball to him because he was poor.
ReplyDeleteRichie helped Russell by scaring away the jock rots. I was surprised by this behavior because before Richie had been really mean to him and bullied him. Richie acted so strangely when Russell asked if he wanted the basketball because he thought that Russell wanted to be friends with him and so he turned away and "backed off."
ReplyDeleteRichie scared jack rots off of Russell when they were bulling Russell. I think Richie finally feels bad for bulling Russell or just thinks he can only bully Russell and no one else can. He might of felt wierd because of the basketball thin because I thought it was wierd my self.
ReplyDeleteIn the Story, Richie helped Russell deal with the jock rots. In the middle of when the jock rots and Russell were talking, Richie stepped out from the woods Richie started scaring Burke and Blanchette by saying that the fight would be better if it was 2 on 2... The Jock rots ran away. I was really surprised by Richies behavior. Burke and Blanchette left their ball so Russell asked Richie if he wanted it. This is when Richie flipped out. I agree with Jake's post that something happend in Richie's life to make him act that way.
ReplyDeleterichie helped russell scare off the jock rots when they were bulling him. i think this was strange of richie to do because at the begining of the book richie was bulling him.
ReplyDeleteRiche acted differently when he saw the "Jock Rots" and Russell fighting. He saw that it was two against one and he wanted it to be two against two. He wanted that to be so because I think he saw how much he was being mean to others so he wanted to help. Riche might have acted so strangely about the basketball because it might seem like Russell thinks he is so poor that he does not have any money for a basketball. I also think it was ackward because the two "Jock Rots" left and Russell tried to break the ackwardness by giving the ball to Riche as a peice token.
