  1. I did like the story because of the concept of a world that has been turned into something perfect, too perfect.... and how Jonas discovers the corrupt things the Elders have done like releasing people and giving their citizens take pills so they don't have emotions. My prediction of what release means kinda came true. I will probably see the movie as long as it isn't a boring black and white silent film from the 20s.

  2. Overall, I LOVED this book. Chapters foreshadowed the following chapters, everything was reallyy suspenseful and made me just want to keep reading and reading, even though (most of the time) I didn't. Lois Lowry did good job metaphorically and telling you things kinda but not fully explaining everything. And yes, I said that Jonas was gonna run away. The only thing I'm a little disappointed about is, I still have a lot of questions. What exactly happened to them at the end? Did Jonas die or something or did he just going crazy because he was soo hungry? I cant wait to see this movie which btw is coming out August 15th and I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who liked Divergent and Among the Hidden and I am Number Four.

  3. I will defintely see the movie!!!!!!!!! And I agree with Caroline that Louis Lowry did a great job and left people really thinking. The ending really kind of confused me because I was expecting like a ton of information about fixing the Community but I think the ending was mysterious and it was kind of a cool ending to have so u can imagine yourself what happens next.

  4. SORRY IM LATE I WILL SERIOUSLY SET A REMINDER TO ANSWER MORE QUESTIONS TONIGHT I JUST FORGOT AGAIN anyway yes i loved the book. the author put a lot of questions to answer from start to finish which is the drive of an interesting story. The ending didnt answer many questions, but i think she made it that way for theorys to be thought about. Also, i did some more research on the movie and it may be about Rosemary instead of Jonas. Maybe. i give the book 3/4 starz.

  5. 150/100! This book kept the reader thinking and it wouldn't stop getting suspenseful! I cannot wait for the movie. Do you think they'll make sequels to the movie based off Gathering Blue, Messenger, or Son? I need to do more research on the movie but i can't wait for it to come out no matter what! I felt like it would've been better if Lois Lowry explained "Elsewhere" at the end of the book. I thought it was pretty cool how it didn't explain some things at first but then it was easier to understand later in the book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone since it isn't to long and very well written. I was kind of confused about what the community actually looked like. Personally i pictured it as a bunch of wooden houses spread around with paths to each one and then a river surrounding the whole thing. Then a couple different looking buildings for the school, auditorium, the Annex, and some other special places. The reason i rated it 150/100 is because i dont read much but out of the ones that i have read this one is probably one of best. At first i thought i was gonna have the shortest review but looking back up i guess im wrong. Really fun book and i can't wait for the project we're doing!

  6. I love the book but it would be better if it had an epilogue. Perhaps someone taking him in or something. I do like the book, however, it could be better by saying if Jonas is alive or not. (I think he's alive, what about you guys?)

  7. I would give this book a 7 out of 10 because i would have liked it better if Jonas and Gabe made it to the other community.I also would have liked it better, if instead of skipping over all the training, it showed more of his time with the giver and more time in his social life. But good book over all.-jackt

  8. I really like the book. But as I said before, the ending is cray cray. Very clever. I would like it better if the author maybe described more about Elsewhere once they arrived. But, I still like the suspense. I sort of had a feeling that Gabe would be scheduled to be released and have Jonas save him. I would definitely recommend the book to future peoples. :3 Also, I want to see the movie so bad.

    Maggie's Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. 99.9 (repeated) % liked :3
