  1. I think the entire chapter 22 is meaningful and should be talked about. The main thing that stuck out to me that I didn't think about before is that Melody can't keep up with the "fast and furious, back and forth discussions." She says "I had to think for only one moment, and then hit the correct letter on my machine," for the multiple choice questions I though Whiz Kids task was going to be a breeze for Melody. Although, I never though about the discussion questions that were rapid fire. The thing is, Melody knew the answer to the question, "What is the dot that goes over the letter 'i'," but she couldn't spell the letter in time. This is only one instance when this happened. Many times when kids asked questions like "What's the only rock that floats?" and "How many chromosomes does a human have?" Melody just could not get the answers out in time! It must be KILLING HER!!!
This is very meaningful because I'm wondering how Melody will compete helpfully in Whiz Kids. This is like if you are in Ms. Tosces's class and tried to answer multiplication facts as fast as you can against an opponent. Imagine you are the smartest kid in the class, but your mind is forced to delay you three seconds before you can say the correct answer, only it's a computer delaying you. How frustrating would that be, right?! You wouldn't help yourself to advance to the next opponent. Except in Melody's case it's not herself going to the next kid; it's her team moving to the next round. Now that I've gotten my point across, predict how Melody will overcome this challenge and answer fast and furious questions in the Whiz Kids tournament. If you read this, post your prediction below: I'd love to hear them!
