  1. My question is: Claire and Molly accuse Catherine of cheating for Melody. Do you think Claire and Molly are jealous of Melody? Why or why not?

    1. I think Claire and Molly are jealous of Melody getting help from Catherine and all the special attention she gets from her and other kids. Because Melody has to take tests differently than the other kids, Claire and Molly think she has an advantage on the test, which isn't true, it's the only way she can take the test at all.

    2. I think Claire and Molly are jealous because melody has help and they don't, so they make an assumption and say Melody's cheating, and so they wouldn't be jealous. I also think that Molly and Claire are rich spoiled brats.

    3. Yes, I think Claire and Molly are Jealous, because they don't get treated that way.

Claire and Molly are what Melody calls "normal" and they don't have anybody to help them. They because Melody is special, she isn't normal, and is stupid. Claire even mentions in chapter 16 that she didn't realize just how intelligent melody actually is. What most people don't know is that behind all of the drool, and non-moving body, is that Melody is probably more intelligent than most of them.

Claire and Molly didn't realize that Melody did the test herself, but Catherine just helped fill it out. They are also pretty jealous that Melody has someone nice enough to understand her, and be kind and respectful to her.

  2. Melody gets an aide to help her with her school work and get around. Do you think that her and Catherine get along? How do you think Catherine feels about Melody?

    1. I do think that Melody and Catherine get along. Melody has been around people all her life, in hospitals, at home, at family friends, and many more places and i think that she has gotten used to the way that other people move, so that doesn't bother her that Catherine can move in ways she can't. Since Melody is practically in custody because her body has taken control over her, i think that Catherine feels maybe a little regretful like most of us do. Catherine may have treated other kids like Melody differently before she got a chance to help and almost care for Melody like a sister. Catherine probably felt caring and happy. Working with a kids a great and responsible opportunity and that probably makes her feel great! Also working with someone like Melody who is happy and joyful is must be fun! In my opinion making a difference in a little girls life would be AMAZING!!

    2. Yes, I do think Melody and Catherine will get along well. First off, both being girls will help. People of the same gender normally get along better at Melodys age. Secondly, Catherine knew what to expect when she took the job. This will help because she will not be overwhelmed with Melody. Most people don't know what to expect. I think Catherine feels sorry for Melody. She probaly also feels a little greatful she was blessed with no disabilities.

  3. Melody's history teacher gave them an assignment on presidents and their vice presidents. Melody studies really hard with Catherine and memorizes them all. When she gets an 85 on the test Rose comes over to her, tells her what she got on the test, and asked Melody what she got. She got exited and pressed 58 instead of 85. Do you think this changed the way Rose thinks about Melody? Why and how does Melody try to get Rose's attention again? How would you feel and what would you do if you were Melody in this situation?
